3/4" Heim Steering Kit
Before you take a look at this kit consider something...
If you are using High Steer Arms, you should use the 7/8" kit; it is only $10 more and substantially stronger. This kit should only be used when using the stock knuckle mount and it is too small to safely bore to 3/4". This is my opinion only, but the cost & weight differences are minimal and the strength difference substantial.
This is your not so basic steering setup that uses 3/4" heims with easier adjustment & much stronger tubing. The kit can be used with stock steering position on the knuckle or High Steer arms. The arms or knuckles would need a 5/8" bore.
These are stronger than stock because we use 1.5" X .25" Wall DOM tubing and 3/4" Ruffstuff Heat Treated Chromoly heim joints.
You will receive:
- 2 - RH 3/4" X 3/4" Heat Treated Chromoly Heims
- 2 - LH 3/4" X 3/4" Heat Treated Chromoly Heims
- 2 - RH 3/4" Hex Head Tube Adapters (1" Tube ID)
- 2 - LH 3/4" Hex Head Tube Adapters (1" Tube ID)
- 2 - RH 3/4" Jam Nuts
- 2 - LH 3/4" Jam Nuts
- 2 - 3/4" X 5/8" RS Stainless Safety Misalignment
- 2 - 3/4" X 5/8" RS Stainless High Misalignment
- 4- Tie Rod Steering Misalignments
- 2 - 1.5" X .25 X 54" DOM tube
One of the unique things about this setup is the Safety Misalignment. We combine the misalignment you need with the Safety Washer you also need, eliminating a join point which is a potential stress riser and an obvious shear point.
We do not provide the 5/8" bolts you will need. You must determine the length you need and it will vary with the thickness of your High Steer arm & Pitman Arm.
We supply more DOM than you need because it is way too easy to make a mistake in your calculations and you can always cut tube, growing it back is the hard part! If you are running 35" tires or larger it is recommended to run our 7/8 heim kit
This is a do it yourself style kit that requires welding by a competent person with the right equipment, don't skimp, do it right! You will need to check clearances with the steering at lock to see if you need to add any bends before you cut it down to clear diff covers, sway bar mounts, etc
