DIY Y-Link Steering using GM 1 Ton Tie Rod Ends
Used for making a crossover style drag link and tie rod combo with street legal tre’s, especially when not working with a kingpin dana 60. Really good for a dana 44 and not wanting to spend the time or money on a high steer setup (recommended though, we have it) These are strong because we use 1.5" X .25" Wall DOM tubing and the tie rod ends are made for a 1 ton rig. Hex head tube adapters for easy wrench adjustments.
This is a do it yourself style kit that requires welding by a competent person with the right equipment, don't skimp, do it right! You will need to check clearances with the steering at lock to see if you need to add any bends before you cut it down to clear diff covers, sway bar mounts, etc.
consider adding;
2 tapered knuckle inserts if your axle could have different taper than gm standard 1 ton (drill to 7/8” and drop in) $8.00 each
1 high angle insert for the pitman arm (drill to 1” and drop in) $10.00
or a taper tool reamer to do the above jobs without the inserts $75.00
You will receive:
- 2 - 54" of 1.5" X .25" wall DOM tubing
