FAR FROM STOCK

Engine Limited Warranty

Revision 2  |  Effective August 28, 2026

Every engine built by Far From Stock is bench tested and video recorded prior to shipment. We stand behind the work that goes into every build, and this warranty reflects both what we cover and how we'll work with you if something goes wrong.

Engine Warranty Coverage

Far From Stock (FFS) engine builds are covered under this Limited Warranty against defects in workmanship under normal use, subject to the coverage period, terms, and exclusions below. The length of coverage is determined by build tier.

Build Tier Description Coverage Warranty Period
Stage 1 Stock Workmanship 2 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first
Stage 2 Workhorse or Turn Key Workmanship 2 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first
Stage 3 Shocker Workmanship 60 days, unlimited mileage

All Far From Stock engines are covered for defects in workmanship only. Coverage type is the same across every build tier. What varies by tier is the length of the coverage period.

Failures resulting from increased power output, tuning, or any modification are never covered under any build tier, regardless of when they occur.

The build level stated on your invoice at time of purchase governs which warranty period applies. FFS reserves the right to reclassify a build's tier if the components or tuning present do not match the tier claimed, and will notify the customer in writing of the basis for any reclassification.

Oil Leak Policy

This policy applies to all build tiers. Oil leaks resulting from installation errors (improper torque, seal placement, gasket surface prep, and similar) are covered under workmanship. Oil leaks resulting from fittings, adapters, sensors, or components installed, modified, or serviced after delivery are not covered.

Definitions

Workmanship

"Workmanship" refers to defects caused by how an engine was assembled or machined by Far From Stock. It does not mean defects in the parts themselves, and it does not mean failures caused by use, modification, or service after delivery.

Examples of workmanship covered under this warranty include a bearing installed with incorrect clearance or torque, a fastener not torqued to spec, a gasket or seal installed incorrectly, or a machining error such as bore or deck surface.

Workmanship does not include a correctly installed part that fails on its own, wear items reaching normal end of life, or damage caused by external factors such as overheating, contaminated fuel, or use beyond rated capacity.

Registration

Engines must be registered with Far From Stock within 30 days of purchase using the Warranty Registration Form. Registration must include a clear photo of the engine tag affixed to the engine by Far From Stock at the time of build.

Failure to register within 30 days, or failure to include a photo of the engine tag, will void your warranty.

Terms and Conditions

This engine warranty is valid only if:

  • The engine is installed by an FFS-approved technician.
  • Regular maintenance is performed according to the schedule provided at delivery.
  • The recommended break-in oil is used for the first 300 to 600 miles (see Break-In Requirements below).
  • All repair, diagnostic, or service work is performed using parts supplied directly by Far From Stock, and only after prior written authorization from FFS.
  • No modification is made to fueling, boost, timing, tuning, or any factory-documented specification for that build tier beyond what FFS installed or approved.

Misdiagnosis

If a shop or customer diagnoses a failure without prior authorization from Far From Stock, and that diagnosis is later found to be incorrect, the customer and/or shop is responsible for FFS's time, materials, diagnostic labor, and all shipping costs in both directions.

Unauthorized Service Voids Warranty

Any failure occurring after the engine has been removed, disassembled, serviced, or repaired by anyone other than an FFS-approved technician, without prior written authorization from FFS, is not covered, regardless of cause.

Repair or Replacement

Approved claims will result in repair or replacement of defective parts or the engine using parts supplied by Far From Stock.

  • Labor reimbursement is capped at $90 per hour, flat rate.
  • Labor reimbursement applies only to repairs performed using parts supplied directly by FFS.
  • Any repair performed using aftermarket or customer-sourced parts not provided by FFS voids eligibility for labor reimbursement of any amount.
  • Any repair performed without prior written authorization from FFS voids eligibility for reimbursement, regardless of parts used.
  • Shipping is covered for approved claims only.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Maintain the engine according to the schedule provided at delivery and keep detailed maintenance records.
  • Maintain proper fluid levels at all times.
  • Use only the FFS-recommended break-in oil for the first 300 to 600 miles.
  • Contact FFS before any diagnostic or repair work is performed.
  • If an oil or coolant leak causes a more extensive failure, that resulting failure is not covered.

The customer is responsible for maintaining and providing verifiable proof of scheduled maintenance. Far From Stock reserves the right to deny a claim if maintenance cannot be independently verified.

Break-In Requirements

The FFS-specified break-in oil must be used for the first 300 to 600 miles after installation. Use of any other oil during this period voids the warranty in full, regardless of build tier.

Exclusions

This warranty covers workmanship-style defects only, and applies in the same way to every build tier. Far From Stock is not responsible for failures caused by, related to, or occurring in connection with any of the following:

  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, or overloading
  • Overheating or overloading beyond rated capacity
  • Fuel system failures, contaminated fuel, or improper fuel type
  • Tuning of any kind not performed or approved in writing by FFS
  • Unauthorized or improper ECM/TCM parameter changes
  • Detonation or pre-ignition damage from improper fuel, timing, or boost
  • Excessive EGT events, including sustained operation beyond documented safe thresholds
  • Water/methanol injection system malfunction or misuse, unless installed and calibrated by FFS
  • Transmission or drivetrain failure resulting from engine power output exceeding the rated capacity of the transmission or drivetrain
  • Towing or hauling beyond rated capacity
  • Racing, sled pulling, dyno abuse, or competition use of any kind
  • Any modification to fueling, boost, injection timing, or other factory-documented specification for the build tier
  • Neglected maintenance, including missed oil or coolant service intervals
  • Corrosion, rust, or moisture intrusion unrelated to workmanship
  • Oil leaks resulting from fittings, adapters, sensors, or components installed, modified, or serviced after delivery (see Oil Leak Policy)
  • Damage resulting from improper break-in procedure or use of non-approved break-in oil
  • Any repair, diagnosis, disassembly, or service performed by anyone other than an FFS-approved technician without prior written authorization
  • Use of aftermarket or customer-sourced parts not supplied by FFS in any repair

Far From Stock can only cover workmanship-style errors. Anything outside of that, including but not limited to the items above, is excluded from coverage.

Limitations

FFS's liability under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective part or engine. FFS is not liable for consequential or incidental damages, including but not limited to towing, rental, lost time, or lost income.

Core Return Policy

Full Credit

Full core credit will be given when the core is returned within 30 days of the customer's receipt of the new engine, provided the conditions below are met. Far From Stock will be the sole judge of the condition of the returned core based on our inspection and reserves final determination of credit eligibility.

We want the engine head intact and bolted on, valve covers in place, and the engine block assembly free of damage, holes, or cracks. Core values are determined by Far From Stock after we tear the core down. Cores damaged during shipment to FFS are the responsibility of the customer and their shipping company.

Half Credit

Half core charge credit will be given when:

  • Housing or block shows slight damage
  • Minor parts are missing

Half credit is fifty percent of the core charge paid, currently $1,250 on a $2,500 core charge.

No Credit

No core credit will be issued when:

  • The core is seized or cracked
  • There is excessive damage (heavy biodiesel use and rust are common causes of unacceptable cores)
  • The core is fire damaged
  • The core is returned more than 30 days after the customer's receipt of the new engine

If no credit is issued, you can either pay to have the core shipped back to you, or we can pay you a $100.00 scrap fee for it.

Returning a Core

  • Remove all fittings from the old unit
  • Drain all fuel and oil from the unit
  • Package the core so fuel and oil cannot escape the package
  • Re-fasten the core engine to the original bracing and shipping structure used to ship the new engine to you. The core must be secured to this bracing for its return shipment.
  • Reuse original shipping boxes and bags where possible
  • All core return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer
  • Write "Core Return" and the RA# clearly on the outside of the box
  • Include a copy of the original invoice and RGA inside the box

Packages with fuel or oil residue on the outside will not be accepted for delivery by UPS, LTL freight, or other carriers, which will cause delays. Retain your RA#, invoice #, and tracking number until credit is received.

Claim Process

We will respond to all warranty claims in a timely manner and work through this process with you to make sure you get back on the road.

  • Contact Us. Report issues to FFS customer service by phone or email before any diagnostic or repair work begins.
  • Submit Documentation. Provide proof of purchase, registration, maintenance records, and photos and/or video of the issue. No warranty claims will be approved without photo and/or video documentation.
  • Inspection. The engine must be inspected by an FFS-approved technician.
  • Estimate. An estimate must be provided and approved by FFS before any work is performed. FFS will not pay for work performed before approval.
  • Approval. FFS will provide written approval or denial of the claim.
