2nd Gen Tie Rod/Drag Link/Track Bar/Drop Bracket

FarFromStock now makes the very best available 94-99 and 00-02 2500/3500 Ram steering system, period!
The system includes a tie rod, drag link, track bar and track bar bracket available in our Standard Durable Wrinkle Black finish.
By request - Raw metal finish,
If you’d like it to be RAW metal (in the notes at checkout request RAW FINISH) or pick from 6500 Custom Powder Coating Colors (Choose a Color a code HERE). Colors other than Wrinkle Black are an additional charge.

Of course it requires some simple modifications from stock, but what would you expect with a FarFromStock steering system!
The key lies with the track bar drop / conversion bracket. We started from scratch and built two new brackets, that use their own unique track bar too. Not only is the bracket strong, well laid out and adjustable, but the track bar has been extended in length to match the length of the drag link in a true crossover configuration. The lower height bracket will fit trucks with lift heights from stock to 8” of lift, and the taller drop track bar bracket will work from 6” all the way up to 15” of lift!
So we have the best engineered steering kit that can achieve the least amount of bump steer over the longest amount of travel.
We also use the largest hardware available, automatically, no upgrade needed. Including 3/4 bolt diameter at both ends of the track bar!
Features big 7/8” diameter chromoly, heat treated, teflon/nylon lined self lubricating, self sealing race inspired rod ends. 1.5” .250 wall dom steel tube construction. These rods ends are long lasting but also easily replaceable. Multiple ways of keeping them happy and healthy for a long time depending on your driving environment. They will always benefit from a occasional spray of a quality penetrating/lubricating product, but in winter salt driving, a thin coating of grease can be applied for the season, or we have optional boots that can be installed and grease filled for worry free installation, but without the pretty appearance of a shiny rod end. It’ll all depend on your style and environment.
Drilling required for 3/4” bolts. We have an available reamer to make it extra easy. A 3/4 drill bit will still be required for one hole a reamer just wont fit in, but it’s an easy one. Other drilling required for drop bracket.
Designed as a complete system, so mixing and matching with others components is up to you, and all heights are engineered around a stock pitman arm.
Stock style single stabilizer mount included with Tie Rod for 00-02 axles. Click Here for appropriate stabilizer.
The 00-02 version works with 2g dana 60 or AAM 3g swapped trucks too. (Although clearances at the lowest heights, like stock height, have not been verified)
Stock 16” wheels will not fit. Check deep rear spacing 17” wheels for clearance prior to driving.
Reamer to take your tapered holes in the pitman and knuckles to 3/4" . Easier on the hands than a drill bit, with less sticking or jerking with the drill.
Reamer Tools for Tapered Tie Rod Ends and Knuckles
It’s always helpful to remove powder where the jamb nut contacts the end of the tube.
It’s always helpful to grease all assembled surfaces.
Be sure to re-torque all these bolts and jamb nuts after driving just like a wheel or a u-bolt would normally need. Don’t be afraid, 200-300 ft/lbs ok!
It’s recommended to use the included standard nuts for mock up and adjusting prior to a final install of the nylon lock nuts, just so you don’t wear them out getting things adjusted.

This steering kit is the same kit we use for air suspension. WATCH IT ON YOUTUBE (2nd Gen Ram Long Travel Air Suspension)

Due to the race type application of these heavy duty parts, even though they are stronger than anything else available and are safe enough for racers, this should be considered an off road part :)

Frequently Asked Questions:

“Question my truck has a 3 inch leveling kit. Should the drag link bolt on top of the pitman arm with the spacers on top or should it bolt below the pitman arm with the spacers in the bottom?”

With our standard drop bracket, the drag link stays on top of the pitman.
With our deep drop track bar bracket (for tall lifted trucks or long travel air suspension) the drag link goes on bottom of the pitman.

Hey guys I recently purchased your drag link and tie rod with heims for my 01 2500 I followed all the instructions removing the powder coat from the ends for the jam nuts but I have tightened them and set the hang and within a couple days even checking them they come lose again any solutions? Or ways I can get it to stop coming loose?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Should not be hard to fix. I would guess that all 4 have not been the problem. The tie rod is the easiest to keep tight. With the hang set you easily progressively switch from side to side and can pull down with a big long wrench to get things tight, and of course re-torque after a test drive. The rod ends help do this because they are both clocked the same and don’t need backed up while tightening.

(Note, if hang is too low, at full lock the knuckles will lift the hang of the bar by force with the misalignments at full bind, this also can knock a joint loose just like using a wrench, much greater chances of doing that on the drag link if not freely properly set throughout steering range)
The drag link is only slightly more difficult because the hang can change if just pulling down on the jamb nut when tightening. The rod ends will not be clocked the same at each end like the tie rod. So this requires backing up the rotation of the rod end at the passenger knuckle while tightening the jamb nuts.
As noted above in parentheses, if during steering rotation a rod end binds, the end will loosen as if you did it with a wrench. The misalignment spacers if installed in the correct location will allow all movement necessary if set properly.
Feel free to send pictures and I might be able to identify an issue. Thx
